Our traditional electric fireplaces give your room the drama of a classic fireplace without the need for a chimney or flue. Our range of designs from leading fireplace manufacturers like Dimplex, Burley and PureGlow mean you can choose classic traditional styles or those with a more contemporary edge that still make a statement in any room.
Our range of traditional fireplaces includes chimney-effect stoves and inset fireplaces for a realistic look no matter what style you’re looking for. Our electric stoves and fireplaces come in finishes such as brass, chrome and black, while our mantels come in a variety of colours and materials.
For a truly classic effect, many of our fireplaces feature realistic-looking log or coal effect ceramic fuel beds that create the warmth and heat of a real fire with no need to worry about fitting or cleaning the chimney.
Traditional Electric Fires
What is a traditional electric fire?
A traditional electric fire is inspired by fireplaces that feature a chimney breast or flue which are inset into a cavity in the wall. Traditional fireplaces are inspired by design from the 18th and 19th century, which include elements such as antique features or natural materials.
While many may feel that electric fires are used to modernise a room, our range of traditional designs means you can enjoy an electric fireplace regardless of the look you’re aiming to create in your home.
Do traditional electric fireplaces use a lot of electricity?
Most of our fireplaces use a single standard plug socket and have heat settings of 1-2kW. This means they can heat a room while still keeping your electric bill down. Some of our models include eco settings so you can enjoy the warmth while saving even more energy.
Are traditional electric fireplaces expensive to fit?
Many of our traditional fireplace suites require an inset cavity in the wall, meaning you may need a qualified professional to help you install them. However, we do also sell free standing suites and fireplaces in the traditional style which can be simply placed against the wall or elsewhere in the room and used immediately.
If you need assistance from a professional, we recommend our customers use Rated People to find tradespeople in your local area.
Do electric fireplaces really heat a room?
Electric fireplaces are not typically designed to be the sole heat source of a room, especially larger rooms. However, with many electric fires generating 2kW of heat, they can warm a small room comfortably and can be used along with other heat sources like radiators in larger rooms to ensure the room is warmed completely.
