Our Bioethanol EcoSmart fires are the perfect focal point of any living room or garden, creating an attractive flame and heat without the need for a chimney or flue. Unlike a wood-burning or gas fireplace, bioethanol fires use clean-burning liquid to create flames and heat that are safe and efficient.
Bioethanol Fireplaces UK
Whether you're looking for an eco-friendly alternative to your existing traditional fireplace or to add an extra heat source to your room, bioethanol fireplaces are an ideal way to create a beautiful interior design without having to sacrifice any of the qualities of a fireplace.
From our wall-mounted bioethanol fireplace inserts to our bio fireplace tables, there are many types of fireplaces to choose from to create the perfect space and atmosphere in your home.
Our bio fireplaces come with 8 bottles (40 litres) of fuel so your fireplace is ready to use almost as soon as it gets to your door.
How safe is a freestanding bioethanol fireplace?
Bioethanol fireplaces are clean-burning, meaning they produce very little emissions. Your fireplace will emit around as much carbon dioxide as two medium-sized candles and will produce no carbon monoxide or aldehyde, allowing it to be used without a flue or chimney.
With a bioethanol fireplace indoors, you'll still enjoy the qualities of an open fire and a real flame without having to worry about fossil fuel emissions.
As for the heat output, a bioethanol fire burns higher than an electric fireplace and, since there is a real flame, it's not recommended to put a bio fireplace on within reach of children.
How does a bioethanol fireplace work?
Unlike gas fires, our modern bioethanol fireplaces don't require any fuel lines to be installed, making them a time and space-saving alternative to other types of fireplaces. Simply add the fuel to the burner and light, then you can either keep the fireplace on until the fuel burns out or close the lid and starve the flame of oxygen.
You can also use the lid to control the flame size and heat output.
Is a bioethanol fireplace suitable for outdoor use?
With no fuel lines or electricity needed and rust-proof exteriors, you can use your bioethanol fireplace outdoors or indoors. Whether you want to create a beautiful centrepiece in your home with a wall-mounted bioethanol fire or you want a cosy conversation space, we have a range of bioethanol fire pits to choose from.
How do you put out a bioethanol fire?
Bioethanol fireplaces are simple to light and put out - simply add fuel and light to start and close the stainless steel lid of your bioethanol burner when you're finished to shut off the oxygen and put out the fire.
How do I install a bioethanol fireplace?
If you're not confident with DIY, you may prefer a freestanding bioethanol fireplace, bench or fire pit. These models mean easy installation as they're ready to go as soon as your set them up in your home or garden.
For wall-mounted models and bioethanol inserts, there may be more installation required but, since there's no flue or chimney, they can be installed anywhere there's space in your home, allowing for much greater flexibility.
How much does it cost to run a bioethanol fire?
In comparison with coal and wood-burning fireplaces, bioethanol fireplaces are much cheaper to run. 2.5L of biofuel will create flame and heat for 8-11 hours in most of our models.
